Matt Damon on Tony Gilroy's Original 'Bourne Ultimatum' Script: 'A Career-Ender'

The development worries throughout the 3 'Bourne' films would be the stuff of moviemaking legend. Doug Liman butted heads with studio professionals throughout 'The Bourne Identity,' and things did not go much softer for 'The Bourne Supremacy' and director Paul Greengrass. Which would be to say nothing from the mess which was the pre-production period throughout 'The Bourne Ultimatum,' the ultimate installment within the franchise, up to now, with Matt Damon. How bad did things jump on 'Bourne 3'? Bad enough that Damon just told GQ inside a new interview that author Tony Gilroy's initial script draft was "unreadable." "It is the studio's fault for putting themselves for the reason that position," Damon told GQ concerning the studio cutting an offer with Gilroy to complete one script for 'Ultimatum' for "an exorbitant of cash.Inch "I do not blame Tony to take a ton of cash and handing with what he handed in. It is simply it was unreadable. This can be a career-ender. I am talking about, I possibly could put this factor on eBay and it might be game over for your dude. It's terrible. It is embarrassing. He was getting a try, essentially, and that he required his money and left." Damon and Greengrass introduced in Scott Z. Burns (who authored 'Contagion' for Steven Soderbergh) and George Nolfi to the touch some misconception -- that they did. 'Ultimatum' would be a hit with experts and audiences alike -- something which Damon possibly appreciated when calling up GQ to clarify his Gilroy-focused jams. "Basically did not respect him and appreciate his talent, i quickly really wouldn't have cared," he stated. "My feelings were hurt. That's all. And that is precisely why I should not have stated anything. This really is between me and him. So saying anything openly is fucking stupid and less than professional and merely type of douchey of me." 'The Bourne Legacy' -- which stars Jeremy Renner leaving the doorway open for Damon's Jason Bourne to come back -- comes to theaters in August of 2012. Tony Gilroy may be the director.
